Affectionate looks and a beer in hand. This is very typical.

My name is Meg, and I’m the voice behind this here blog. I live just outside of Kansas City and work in public relations. I’m a gym rat, a DIY specialist and a dog lover.

I have two other halfs: my husband Michael and our pupper, Shamu. He’s a science teacher and she’s keeps things under control at home.

Michael and I met in 2008 in Lawrence, Kansas, the greatest place on earth. Sham showed up in 2010 and brought along some much needed dog-sass. We got engaged in 2012 at the Lake of the Ozarks, the second-best place on the planet. We were married on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence in 2013, and have been living out our postgraduate dreams ever since then: finishing graduate degrees, buying houses, building decks and traveling with friends.

Please excuse the ‘tude.

In early 2016 we decided (somehow both begrudgingly and enthusiastically) it was time to let go of our DINK ways and kid up. That hasn’t proven to be as easy as we’d hoped it would be, but if it had been, there wouldn’t be much here for you to read, would there?

I’ve been journaling since we started trying to make a baby, and that’s transitioned into this fine piece of literature. I hope that by sharing these stories  I don’t gross anyone out too badly and that we can learn from one another’s experiences.

Cheers!
